Hello Chuck,
Wow there was some nice stuff left at these houses. Would have loved to be there to pick up the HD TV and some of the other furniture.
Throwing that stuff out is insane.
James/LAEF2
I agree.
My wife and I went to a consignment furniture shop last weekend and the place was CRAWLING with people buying used furniture (and many pieces selling weren’t much better than some of the pieces you see there).
It’s hard to believe that people just throw their crap out or leave it.
Geez. Seems the market is right for guys to go with these crews, pitch in moving some stuff, and turn around selling it on ebay or something. If the guy’s tossing $50-$100 at them to tag along and then divert selected items from the dump, it’ll cut the dump fees AND ensure some of that stuff gets repurposed.
That first house was pretty nice.
I am in shock what people will leave behind.
It’s possible that all of their possessions were also financed…. so many stories about first time buyers who took on HELOC loans to get the instant gratification from all the free money that became available… It probably worked out better for them as opposed to the creditors chasing them down.
As they say “I didn’t want to be an innovator any more, I just wanted to make the quick and easy buck, I just wanted in:. The Notorious BIG said it best: “Either you’re slingin’ crack-rock, or you’ve got a wicked jump-shot.” Nobody wants to work for it anymore. There’s no honor in taking that after school job at Mickey Dee’s, honor’s in the dollar, kid. So I went the white boy way of slinging crack-rock: I became a TEMPORARY CALIFORNIA HOUSE OWNER”!!
Out
If you believe that stuff makes it to the dump I’ve got a great house in Yorba Linda you can buy for $900,000.
Hey, that’s what it was worth three years ago.
One other point here – the link I’m posting is to a guy who had his house “trashed out” EARLY – they just came and swooped up all his stuff and changed the locks because he was gone for the weekend.
They claimed he “abandoned” the place (for the weekend!) and that that gave them the rights to come in and trash the place out early.
Oh well, too bad. That Asian chick is hot though.
